In order to sustain and recognize the continuing efforts of maintaining peace and order in Zambales, the Provincial POC Audit Team headed by Dir. Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, together with Governor Amor D. Deloso, awarded the best performing Municipal Peace and Order Councils and Lupong Tagapamayapa of Zambales, during the conduct of the 2nd Quarter Joint Provincial Peace and Order and Council and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council Meeting on June 11, 2019 held at Balin Sambali, Zambales Sports Complex, Iba, Zambales.

The awarding, which has been one of the highlights of the said meeting, was participated by the PPOC and PADAC members, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales field officers and staff, Chiefs-of-Police, Municipal Fire Marshalls, guest Lupong Tagapamayapa of Barangays Camiing, Cabangan and San Isidro, Subic, as well as other local functionaries of Zambales.

In order to shed light on concerns pertaining to criminality and public safety, the Provincial Peace and Order Council and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council both chaired by Gov. Amor D. Deloso, has conducted the 2nd Quarter Meeting for the year on June 11, 2019 at the Balin Sambali, Iba Sports Complex, Iba, Zambales.

The DILG Zambales Team, Chiefs-of-Police and Fire Marshalls, were all present. Also present were the members of the PPOC and PADAC composed of Provincial Directors and representatives from PNP, AFP, DOJ, DWPH, DTI and DepEd. Local functionaries, Lupong Tagapamayapa of Barangays Camiing and San Isidro, as guests, and Municipal Mayors Jun Rundstendt Ebdane of Iba and Jun Angelo Dominguez of Castillejos, as well as Vice Mayor Doris Ladines were also in attendance.

Zambales – With the role to ensure provision of technical assistance to LGUs in the preparation of local plans, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Zambales- Community Based Monitoring System (DILG-CBMS) Team has provided technical support to the municipalities of Palauig and Subic on the CBMS- Accelerated Poverty Profiling (APP) Module IV: Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) Formulation on May 22 - 25, 2019 at Villa Raphael, San Juan, Palauig, Zambales and May 27 - 29, 2019 at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, Subic, Zambales, respectively.

Palauig, Zambales – As part of the DILG’s mandate of providing technical assistance to the local government units in the implementation of Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), the DILG Zambales CBMS Team capacitated the Barangay Secretaries, Barangay Health Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars on the use of CBMS Data in Barangay Development Planning held on May 16 - 18, 2019 at Senior Citizen's Hall, Palauig, Zambales.

On April 3, 2019, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales Provincial Office headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V led the 2019 Provincial Orientation held at Zambales Training and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales.

The purpose of the activity is to prepare and ensure that the SGLG key players are equipped with information and strategies for the upcoming 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment.

PD Armi V. Bactad enjoined the participation of the local functionaries from the fourteen (14) LGUs who will take lead in ensuring that documents and requirements of each of the seven (7) areas of the SGLG Assessment are prepared.

“We are still hoping na tayo po ay unti-unting tumataas, na tutulong tayong lahat”, said PD Bactad stressing on the importance of proper documentation in the assessment.

With the emergence of a new and renewed mandate on public order and safety and anti-illegal drugs, there is a need to continuously capacitate the POCs and ADACs of Zambales on the existing laws and issuances pertaining to peace and order.

Cognizant to this, the Department of the Interior and Local Government- Zambales under the leadership of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V together with the Provincial Government of Zambales, Provincial Peace and Order Council, and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council opted to extend the necessary technical assistance for the component POCs and ADACs.
