DILG Zambales takes pride for the seven (7) Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) in Zambales who have achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) during the Regional Awarding Ceremony for the 2024 Child Friendly Governance Audit (CFLGA) Passers.
The award was conferred on February 18, 2025, at the Kingsborough International Convention Center, San Fernando, Pampanga.
The 7 LGUs that proudly received the SCFLG award are:
• Municipality of Botolan
• Municipality of Cabangan
• Municipality of Iba
• Municipality of Masinloc
• Municipality of San Antonio
• Municipality of San Marcelino
• Municipality of Subic
These municipalities have demonstrated excellence in five key areas in the CFLGA, a mandatory evaluation that assesses local governments' performance in implementing child-friendly policies and programs:
Survival: Safeguarding the access and delivery of health and nutrition programs
Development: Ensuring the quality and accessibility of education for children and out-of-school-youth
Protection: Responsiveness to the needs of children
Participation: Participation of children in local governance
Governance: Local Plans, policies, structures, and capacity to respond to, and fulfillment of child’s right
The SCFLG recognition underscores the exceptional dedication of these municipalities in creating an environment that supports the well-being, rights, and future of every child within their communities.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Municipal Mayors and their representatives, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers, other local officials from the respective LGUs as well as the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and DILG Zambales.
