                 AN AUDIO VIDEO PRESENTATION    

     The DILG Zambales Team led by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad conducted its team building activity for the 2nd Semester in Potipot Island, Candelaria, Zambales last December 13, 2015 to strengthen unity and deepen camaraderie among its personnel.

     The team travelled from the Provincial Office to Potipot Island in the said municipality right after its participation in the Fun Run of the Philippine National Red Cross.

      

The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) chaired by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. convened last November 13, 2015 at the Balin Sambali, Zambales Sports Complex, Iba Zambales.  This is the first PPOC and PADAC joint meeting of the province which was facilitated by the DILG led by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, PPOC head secretariat, in close coordination with the Provincial Government.

During the meeting, Gov. Ebdane stressed the need for the provincial, municipal and barangay levels to make an inventory of all the mandatory councils and if possible cluster related councils to increase their effectiveness and meet their objectives through collaborative, joint working and partnership arrangements.

In celebration of the 24th anniversary of the 1991 Local Government (LG) Code this month of October, DILG Zambales Team conducted its “Community Service and Tree Planting Activities” on October 21, 2015 at Sitio Alao, Barangay San Juan, Botolan, Zambales.  The said area, with a significant number of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) (about 200 households) was chosen by the Team for its yearly gift giving and sharing of blessings to the less fortunate.

As part of the 24th Anniversary Celebration of the Local Government Code of 1991, Zambales Team composed of Barangay Officials from Cabangan and Botolan competed in the “Tagisan ng Talino: The Local Government Challenge on October 15, 2015 at Royal Goftel, Angeles City wherein Barangay Secretary Jeanne May Diaz of San Juan Botolan emerged as the regional champion for the Essay Writing Contest.

DILG Zambales, in its effort to intensify advocacy for the 24th Local Government Code (LGC) Anniversary guested at Radyo Natin 105.7 Mhz during the program of Bishop Virginio Ducos last October 6, 2014 to promote the upcoming activities in line with its celebration.

Presidential Proclamation No. 260 series of 2011, declared the last Saturday of March and 2nd Sunday of October 2011 and every year thereafter as Barangay Assembly Days and in line with the celebration of the Local Government Code Anniversary with the theme “Matatag na Republika sa LGU ang Simula” Barangay Carael, Botolan was chosen as the Zambales Provincial Showcase for the conduct of barangay assembly on October 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. The event was conducted at Carael barangay hall with the council and volunteers headed by Punong Barangay Ana Lisa D. Jaring.

Accomplishment on disaster preparedness, social services, peace and order and solid waste management; updates on on-going programs and projects; and financial status were presented to the three hundred eighty five (385) residents who attentively listened and participated. The attendees discussed their concerns and provided recommendations on how to further improve barangay services.
