Last October 05, 2015, during the weekly municipal flag raising ceremonies of each LGU, the message of DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan was clearly conveyed to the municipal employees and officials by their respective MLGOOs, citing the gains of all LGUs in the implementation of the LG Code through the devolution of functions and responsibilities to the local level. The message also highlighted the achievements, successes and challenges currently being faced by LGUs as it continues to serve its constituents. As a response, the LGUs showed full support and joined in the month-long celebration.

This activity was conducted in line with the celebration of the 24th Local Government Code (LGC) Anniversary per Presidential Proclamation No. 63 series of 1992 declaring October as the Local Government Month, the second week of October as the Local Government Week and the 10th day of October as Local Government Day in the country

The Provincial Government of Zambales has been conferred with the 2015 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during the SGLG Awarding Ceremony held on August 28, 2015 at Fontana Convention Center, Clarkfield, Pampanga. The activity was graced by DILG Undersecretary Austere A. Panadero, DILG R3 RD Florida M. Dijan, ARD Araceli A. San Jose, DILG Provincial Directors and delegates from the LGU awardees that excelled in their respective programs which promote good governance, transparency and accountability.


Provincial Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. and Human Resource Management Officer Gamelia Datugan accepted the SGLG plaque of recognition along with the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) amounting to 7 Million Pesos. The recognition received by the Province of Zambales is a clear indication of Gov. Ebdane's commitment in optimizing its exemplary performance towards Good Financial Housekeeping, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, and Peace and Order.

     DILG Zambales conducted a Mid-Year Program Review cum Team Building last August 10-11, 2015 at Subic Bay Peninsular Hotel, SBFZ, Olongapo City. Said activity was headed by PD Armi V. Bactad, CESO V and participated in by 21 employees consisting of the provincial personnel/staff and field officers.

     Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) Chairperson Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. convened the members of the council in a meeting held at the Balin Sambali (Zambales Hotel), Iba, Zambales on July 28, 2015.  This is the second PPOC meeting of the province for CY 2015 which was organized thru the effort of the DILG led by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, PPOC head secretariat, in close coordination with the Provincial Government.

DILG RD Florida M. Dijan, DPA, CESO III awarded to the local government unit of Sta. Cruz, Zambales the amount of Php3,051,600.00 as first trance from the total amount of Php3, 814,500 2015 BUB-DILG funded projects. The checks were received by the lady chief executive of the municipality, Hon. Consolacion M. Marty during a simple awarding ceremony at Zambaleña Building, Masinloc, Zambales right after the Stakeholders’ Convergence Dialogue on Bajo de Masinloc on July 8, 2015 spearheaded by the DILG.

     DILG Secretary Mar Roxas visited the fisher folks of Zambales on July 14, 2015 at the Covered Court, Masinloc Baywalk, South Poblacion, Masinloc, Zambales during the conduct of the Stakeholders' Convergence Dialogue on Bajo de Masinloc despite inclement weather. This is to personally witness and convey outcomes in an open forum which aimed at addressing the issues on security and livelihood experienced by Zambales fisher folks who were among the worst affected by China's claims over the Scarborough Shoal (Bajo de Masinloc).


     The activity is a follow through to the convergence dialogue conducted on July 8, 2015 and was attended by less than a thousand individuals comprising of fisher folks, barangay, municipal, provincial and congressional leaders and line agencies including DILG, DTI, TESDA, BFAR, DSWD, DOLE, AFP, PNP, BFP and PNP Maritime.
