DILG Zambales headed by PD ARMI V. BACTAD, CESO V, participated in the tree planting activity conducted by Provincial Government of Zambales last June 26, 2015 at Sitio Olpoy, Amungan, Iba, Zambales.
The activity was attended and participated by an estimated 400 government officials and employees from the Provincial Government and NGAs such as DILG, PA, PNP, DepEd, DPWH, DENR, DOH and Barangay Officials of the Municipality of Iba with no less than Gov. Hermogenes E. Ebdane leading the ceremonial tree planting which is in line with the nationwide observance of Arbor day.
A total of 1, 000 fruit-bearing trees were planted during the event.
The Annual Tree Planting Program is in response to the reforestation and greening projects of the Provincial Government, institutionalized thru Provincial Ordinance No. 2014-43 entitled, "Ordinance declaring the Month of June as Tree Planting Month in the Province of Zambales".
In his message, the Governor reminded everyone on their duties in taking care and protecting the environment. He further stressed that the trees that were planted today will benefit the future generations.
