CABANGAN MIATF GEARS UP FOR STRICTER COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

The Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) of Cabangan convened on March 23, 2021 to discuss the new protocols in the province of Zambales stipulated in the Executive Order No. 07, series of 2021, issued by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr.
Mr. Manolito C. Donatos, Secretary to the Mayor, cited each provision in the executive order and gave emphasis on the new province-wide curfew hours, limitations on the sale, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages, and parameters on the conduct of gatherings and assemblies.
In his message, Mayor Ronaldo F. Apostol reminded the barangay officials that strict enforcement of health protocols shall be maintained in the locality— especially in the upcoming observance of Holy Week. He said that the conduct of social gatherings and public assemblies shall be monitored to ensure adherence to the new protocols in the province.
As one of the strategies in preventing the surge of COVID-19 cases in the community, barangay officials were encouraged to establish barangay checkpoints to monitor the entry and movement of the persons coming from other critical areas.
Other matters such as— the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 104, series of 2021, updates on the vaccination, and status of Mt. Pinatubo were also tackled during the meeting.

Road clearing (RC) validation teams of the 14 local government units (LGUs) in the Province of Zambales conducted their respective on-site validation which commenced last February 22-March 2, 2021 to inspect and ensure that all roads in the LGUs were cleared of illegal obstructions— following the President’s directive and pertinent Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) memoranda mandating all LGUs to continue to clear and restore roads for public use.
Preceding the scheduled validation, DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad facilitated an online orientation on road clearing cross posting validation to DILG field officers and validation team members last February 19, 2021—to provide common understanding in the assessment and validation of the road clearing compliance of the local government units (LGUs) — aiming for a more effective and efficient validation of cleared roads.

SAN NARCISO PUBLIC ORDER AND SAFETY (POPS) CLUSTER REINFORCES ITS PLANS AND INITIATIVES FOR 2021 IN ITS 1ST QUARTER MEETING

The San Narciso, Zambales peace and order and public safety (POPS) cluster — composed of the Liga ng mga Barangay, representatives from national government agencies and civil society organizations — convened to discuss relevant issues and strengthen local POPS plan and interventions during its first quarter meeting on March 11, 2021 at the 3rd Floor of the Municipal Hall, Barangay Libertad, San Narciso, Zambales.
Ultimately, the meeting served as an avenue to orchestrate all of the stakeholders' plans and efforts in keeping the municipality peaceful and safe in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and transition to the new normal.
