DILG Zambales ensures quality standards of infrastructure projects of Provincial Government

To ensure quality in the implementation of infrastructure projects under the Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Program, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Office of the Project Development Services (OPDS) conducted a four-day activity of Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection for all on-going CMGP projects in the Province of Zambales on March 10-13, 2020.
The said undertaking aimed to validate projects on-site if quality control and assurance are observed, and quality tests are conducted. Moreover, the standards for construction works were primarily assessed to ensure if the approved Detailed Engineering Designs (DED), Program of Works (POW) and other technical specifications are being followed, which are considered in accordance and consistent with the relevant provisions and rules determined by the DPWH.
Among the projects assessed were the “Rehabilitation of San Antonio-Angeles Provincial Road”, “Rehabilitation of San Marcelino-Linasin Provincial Road”, “Rehabilitation of Maloma-Yangil Provincial Road” and “Rehabilitation of Panalabuan-Tubo tubo Provincial Road” located in the municipalities of San Antonio, San Marcelino, San Felipe and Sta. Cruz respectively. The Province of Zambales has received the FY 2019 CMGP funds amounting to ₱100.7 Million in total, allocated for the rehabilitation, improvement and repair of the said roads.

In line with the government’s endeavor to aggressively scale up interventions towards a kind of governance that values transparency, accountability, participation and performance, the DILG has developed an assessment tool called Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS).
The 2019 CSIS Utilization Conference was conducted in coordination with the President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) on March 11-12, 2020 in the Municipality of San Felipe, Zambales. The report was presented before the local officials and department heads of the Municipality headed by Mayor Leo John Farrales and Vice-Mayor Mary Ann Quiba including Civil Society Organization (CSO) representatives wherein citizen satisfaction results revealed San Felipe’s commendable performance in local governance.
The Municipality of San Felipe obtained an overall High Satisfaction rating on all of the services of the local government programs as discussed by the CSIS Team of PRMSU. Recommendations were also provided which the LGU may adopt to further raise the bar of excellence in local governance.

DILG Zambales confers 2019 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award Marker to the Municipalities of San Marcelino and Subic

Having an exemplary performance during the 2019 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Functionality Audit, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) conferred the Municipalities of Subic and San Marcelino, Zambales with the 2019 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award Marker.
As one of the national awardees, DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad awarded the marker to Hon. Jonathan John F. Khonghun, Municipal Mayor of Subic and Hon. Elvis R. Soria, Municipal Mayor of San Marcelino on February 19 and 21, 2020, respectively. The National ADAC Performance Award is given to LGUs that achieved an adjectival rating of Ideal (high functionality) based on the 2019 ADAC Performance Audit.
The ADAC of the Municipalities of Subic and San Marcelino received a high rating during the last functionality assessment with its evident effort to implement, coordinate and complement the national government’s measures to eradicate the country’s illegal drugs problem.
