Every year of June 26, the world observes the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT), dedicated to highlight the serious repercussions that illegal drugs have in the society and strengthen collective effort and actions among nations in combating a global drug problem.
This year’s IDADAIT theme, "The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention" acknowledges that science and research based approach, full respect for human rights, and an awareness of the personal consequences of drug usage are all necessary components of creating an effective drug policy. This will help nations to provide facts and create practical solutions so that those affected individuals can recieve an evidence-based prevention and treatment.
With this, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) continues to work toward the goal of developing a drug-free society and encourages people to actively participate in these campaigns.
