The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region III initiated the conduct of Basic Journalism Writing Training for DILG Zambales personnel—in coordination with DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad—on July 9–10, 2020 via Zoom Cloud Meetings.
Topics discussed include tips on correct word usage in journalistic writing and basics of writing news stories that create an impact. PIA Regional Director William L. Beltran and Mr. Mar Jay S. Delas Alas, provincial information manager of PIA Bataan, served as resource speakers during the activity.
“The DILG Zambales team is very grateful for this opportunity and we are looking forward sa mas malaki pang partnership pagdating sa pagtuturo sa amin sa technical writing. Malaking tulong ang mga ganitong activity kasi part of our job is to communicate what we are doing pagdating sa ating mga trabaho,” said Director Bactad during her opening message.
The training aimed to capacitate and equip DILG Zambales personnel on providing relevant and impactful information to the public through crafting of quality and reliable press releases.
