BARANGAY ASSEMBLY 1ST SEMESTER OF CY 2023 AT BARANGAY NATIVIDAD, SAN NARCISO, ZAMBALES

With the theme, “B-Bida ka! Barangay BIDA Ka sa Pagpapatupad ng Kapayapaan, Pangangalaga ng Kalikasan, at Pagpapaigting ng Pagkakaisa Tungo sa Isang Ligtas, Mapayapa, Maunlad at Masaganang Pamayanan”
Barangay Natividad, San Narciso, Zambales, chosen as the Provincial Showcase, held its Barangay Assembly last March 26, 2023.
The following were discussed and presented by the Punong Barangay, members of the Sangguniang Barangay and representatives from the National Government Agencies:
1. Updates on the on-going programs and projects;
2. Updates on the BIDA Program;
3. Fire Prevention;
4. Proper Segregation and Solid Waste Management; and
5. Barangay Accomplishments and Financial Reports.
DILG Provincial Director Martin Porres B. Moral, CESO V, delivered the message of Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr., Secretary of the Interior and Local Government.
The DILG Zambales participated in the conduct of the said activity. Joining the activity wereHonorable Mayor La Rainne Abad-Sarmiento, members of the Sangguniang Barangay, and 40 representatives from the Youth Sector, Senior Citizens’ Organization, 4Ps recipients, TODA members, Purok Leaders and Lupon Tagapamayapa.
The assembly is conducted in compliance to the provisions of Section 397 of RA 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991.
PINNING THE GOALS TO ENSURE SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECTS, DILG ZAMBALES JUMPSTARTS 2023 WITH 1ST PROVINCIAL LFP CALIBRATION

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales conducted the first monthly provincial assessment and calibration of status of various Locally-Funded Projects (LFPs) for CY 2023. The said activity was steered to ensure that the objectives of development projects will be relayed to the local government units (LGUs).
Cluster Team Leader Melissa D. Nipal,stressed in her message, “...this activity is conducted to assist the LGUs and to ensure that the implementation of the projects are within the timeline and in accordance with the implementation guidelines”.
One of the highlights of the activity is the discussion on the newly funded projects under the Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) which will benefit three (3) municipal LGUs and seven (7) barangays. Also, proposed priority projects of 18 barangay beneficiaries in the Municipalities of Candelaria, Masinloc, Sta. Cruz, and Subic are expected to be funded under the LGSF – Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC). The said projects under this program have an approved budget in the F.Y. 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with a total of Php 118,923,879.00 that will be equally allocated to the target beneficiary barangays amounting to Php 6,606,882.17 each.
Discussed also were the accomplishments from the previous year showing clearly manifestations of the Local Government Unit’s hard work and perseverance to deliver quality service to the constituents.
The said activity was participated by the Municipal Engineers, Municipal Accountants, Local Finance Committee Members, SubayBAYAN Focal Persons and RSSA Focal Persons coming from the thirteen (13) Municipalities, representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) and concerned barangay officials.
