Ensuring Gender Responsiveness of the LGUs ADM Projects

Through the collaborative efforts of DILG Zambales, Bataan and Aurora led by Provincial Directors Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, Myra B. Moral-Soriano, CESO V and Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, CESE respectively, the “Provincial Roll-out on Assessing the Gender Responsiveness of ADM-Funded Projects was conducted on November 8-10, 2017 at Vista Marina Hotel, SBFZ to mainstream gender-responsiveness in the whole project development and implementation cycle.
The activity was attended by the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDC) and Municipal Local Government and Operations Officers (MLGOO) from all the municipalities of the provinces of Zambales, Aurora and Bataan.
LGOO V Lee Allen B. Pineda gave an overview on the importance of the Assistance to Disadvantage Municipalities Program (ADMP) and its connection with Gender and Development. Gender Analysis tools such as the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) and Program/Project Implementation, Management, Monitoring & Evaluation (PIMME) were discussed and utilized during the workshops.
The activity was conducted to facilitate the LGUs compliance on the implementation of the localization of Magna Carta of Women and ensure that it is applied to the implementation of ADM Funded Projects.
Zambales supports the 50th ASEAN Summit

The Provincial Government of Zambales led the conduct of the 4th quarter joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) Meeting on November 7, 2017 at the Zambales Conference and Training Center with the forthcoming 50th ASEAN Summit as the main agenda.
Provincial Administrative Head Atty. Izelle Iamly Deloso presided the meeting as the representative of Governor Amor P. Deloso. The activity was attended by the members of the PPOC and PADAC, Municipal Mayors, DILG Officers, PNP Chief of Police, BFP Fire Marshals, Representatives of National Government Agencies, Provincial Head of Offices and CSOs.
LGOO V Cindy C. Cagalitan discussed the history of ASEAN and gave emphasis on its three pillars namely; ASEAN Political-Security Community, ASEAN Economic Community and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community. The calendar of activities was presented and although the province of Zambales is not among the directly involved provinces, we are expected to provide support for the successful conduct of the ASEAN Summit.
The PNP representative discussed the deployment of personnel during the duration of the ASEAN Summit focusing in the Clark area. Aside from this, the current peace and order situation of the province was discussed.
With peace and order as one of the 10 point agenda of Governor Deloso specifically the 6th point agenda of having a “safe and peaceful environment”, Provincial Administrative Head Atty. Deloso encouraged the support of everyone to the preventive measures of the provincial government in eradicating the root cause of crimes.
GEARING TOWARDS COMPLETION OF LOCALLY FUNDED PROJECTS IN ZAMBALES

The DILG Zambales under the leadership of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V facilitated the Locally Funded Projects Forum on October 24, 2017 at the Vista Marina Hotel, SBFZ to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of projects among local government units.
The activity was attended by the Municipal Mayors, Municipal Head of Offices, CSOs and representatives from the different National Government Agencies.
In her message PD Bactad applauded the support and participation of the LGUs in the activity. She emphasized the need to fast track the implementation of the projects with the help of the NGAs. “Tayo-tayo ang magtutulong-tulong para sigurado na by December 2017 tapos na tayo sa BUB at ADM na ang focus natin by next year”, said PD Bactad.
The status of the LGUs project implementation covering the year 2014-2016 were presented by DILG Engr. Rose Ann Agostosa together with the NGA representatives present. Queries raised during the open forum were also given clarifications to ensure fast completion of projects.
With the end of 2017 fast approaching, the LGUs set their commitments in achieving the target of 100% completion rate.
