The DILG Province of Zambales welcomed DILG Regional Director Julie J. Daquioag, Ph.D.,CESO IV and Assistant Regional Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, CESO V on March 22, 2018 at Iba, Zambales.
The RD and ARD met all the personnel of the DILG Zambales under the leadership of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V.
RD Daquioag formally introduces OIC-ARD Fabia to the team and noted the special occurrence that they are together visiting the province. She challenged everyone to elevate their performance saying “dapat no. 1 tayo sa lahat” especially with the support being given by the Department. She assures everyone that they can always rely to the management should they have any concern.
Being the concurrent Provincial Director of one of the top performing province in SGLG, ARD Fabia shared their best practices to the team. She emphasized the importance of working hard from the heart and the cooperation of everyone. “Kailangan na manggaling sa puso ang pagtratrabaho sa SGLG. Puso ang sikreto” said ARD Fabia.
PD Bactad encouraged the commitment of everyone as it is a vital part in ensuring the good performance of the LGUs and having more 2018 SGLG passers.

As part of the advocacy and promotion of the department’s programs and services, the DILG Zambales team recently appeared as guest on the radio program “Patnubay sa Landas ng Buhay Program” of Radyo Natin 105.7 MHZ- Iba, Zambales on March 22, 2018 hosted by Bishop Virginio D. Ducos, DD.
The purpose of the said guesting is to raise public awareness and responsiveness to the government’s programs, events and activities.
DILG Zambales called the attention of all the Barangay Officials to start the preparation and ensure the conduct of Barangay Assembly in their respective areas.
The team pointed out the significance of barangay assemblies as an opportunity for the people to be heard on their issues, concerns and recommendations. The assembly will also be the source of information on government programs and services. Likewise, it is also a venue for the local officials to discuss their accomplishments and future plans.
Other programs such as the conduct of Inventory and Turnover of all Barangay Properties, Financial Records and Documents (BPFRDs) and Locally Funded Projects promoting transparency and consciousness to the community were also discussed during the radio guesting.

“Women are really the extended arms of men” This was uttered by no less than the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines Maria Leonor “Leni” Gerona-Robredo in her message during the Commemoration of the 110th Founding Anniversary of San Felipe, Zambales and Annual Women’s Month Celebration last March 2, 2018.
Sharing the story of her unexpected involvement in politics, VP Leni said that she is where she is right now serving the people to continue the legacy of her departed husband. A circumstance which she said she had in common with Mayor Carolyn S. Fariñas of San Felipe, Zambales. She expressed her gratitude to the lady mayor for inviting her and giving her the opportunity to visit Zambales.
VP Robredo also cited the notable role of women in the family, their vital participation in the society and the essence of being a lady leader.
The event was attended by 2nd District Representative Atty. Cheryll Deloso-Montalla, Vice Governor Angel Magsaysay-Cheng, Mayor La Rainne Abad-Sarmiento, Mayor Jocelyn Apostol, Mayor Jose Angelo M.
