MAC ASSESSES KATARUNGANG PAMBARANGAY (KP) IMPLEMENTATION IN IBA, ZAMBALES FOR THE 2022 LUPONG TAGAPAMAYAPA INCENTIVES AND AWARDS (LTIA)

The Municipal Awards Committee (MAC) of Iba, Zambales— led by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iba Field Office— convened on March 10, 2022 at 2nd Floor Conference room of the municipal hall to assess the municipality’s 14 barangays in search for the top performing Lupong Tagapamaya (LT). The said assessment was spearheaded by MAC chairperson, Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) VII Judith B. Romero, and participated by the members namely: Hon. Joan Ballesteros- Sangguniang Bayan Member, Police Major Bryan Christopher Baybayan – OIC Chief of Police, and Mr. Nestor de Jesus– Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative.
The said activity aims to assess the barangays’ performance in the effective implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) covering the period of calendar year 2021. The barangays were assessed based on the following evaluation criteria— (1) Efficiency in operations (35 points), (2) Effectiveness in securing the settlement of interpersonal dispute objective of the KP (30 points), (3) Creativity and resourcefulness of LT (25 points), (4) Area or facility for KP facilities (5 points), and (5) Financial or non-financial support (5 points).
Based on the documents presented and after thorough assessment, the MAC unanimously declared Barangay San Agustin as the top performing LT in the municipality garnering an overall performance rating of 91% with an equivalent very satisfactory adjectival rating. Barangay San Agustin will be endorsed to the Provincial Awards Committee (PAC) as the official entry/nominee of the municipality of Iba, Zambales for the 1st – 3rd class category.

DILG Botolan introduces SDG- FACES Project to the stakeholders of the Municipality of Botolan, prepares for the project’s launch this year

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Botolan Field Office — in coordination with the Sustainable Development Goals-Family-based Actions for Children and their Environs Project (SDG-FACEs) Project Implementation Team of the Municipality of Botolan, Zambales — introduced the SDG FACES to the project’s stakeholders and implementers of the municipal government on March 10, 2022 at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall, as the project is set to launch for implementation in the municipality this year.
SDG-FACEs is a project of the Local Government Academy, the training arm of the DILG, which is in line with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG is also known as the Global Goals, which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Aside from the orientation of the program, the SDG- FACEs activity work plan, and the criteria setting, profiling in selecting the barangay beneficiary, were also included in the meeting’s agenda. Further, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Shieralyn B. Esteban discussed the indicators that would help identify the priority barangay beneficiary among the identified five pilot End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) barangays in the municipality.
DILG and MAC of Botolan assess 31 barangays in search for the top lupon tagapamapayapa for 2022

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Botolan Field Office— as well as the members of the Municipal Awards Committee (MAC) of the Municipality of Botolan, Zambales — led the annual assessment of the town’s 31 barangays in search for the top performing lupon tagapamayapa (LT), in view of the 2022 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA). Said activity was held on March 3, 2022 at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall of Botolan, Zambales.
The undertaking served as an avenue for the MAC to measure the barangays’ performance in their respective katarungang pambarangay (KP) operations during year 2021— leading to the endorsement of the topnotch LT to the provincial awards committee (PAC).
The MAC composed of Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Shieralyn B. Esteban, Punong Barangay Erwin Dolojan, as representative of the Liga ng mga Barangay, Police Captain Jhon Jefferson B. Delos Reyes, and Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative Rafael Dequiña carried out the table assessment and deliberation of ratings based from the barangays’s submitted LTIA forms and other modes of verification.
The assessment proper unanimously concluded Barangay Taugtog as the top lupon tagapamayapa in the municipality— garnering an average score of 90.77%.
