Province of Zambales convenes its last Joint PPOC-PADAC-PTF ELCAC Meeting for the year 2021, Harmonizing Efforts on Peace and Order and Public Safety

The peace and order and public safety cluster of the Province of Zambales comprising of— Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC)— all chaired by Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr., convened on December 10, 2021 at Balin Sambali, Iba, Zambales and via zoom meeting application for the 4th Quarter Joint Council Meeting— to keep each stakeholder abreast of the peace and order updates, issues and concerns in the pursuit of keeping the Province peaceful, orderly and safe.
Among the highlights of the meeting include the presentation of the status of COVID-19 efforts, vaccination program implementation and accomplishments during the conduct of the National Vaccination Days last November 29 to December 1, 2021 by Provincial Health Officer Noel C. Bueno, M.D..
Likewise, updates on the peace and order in Zambales focusing on threats of terrorism, insurgency, ending local communist armed conflict, criminality and illegals drugs were presented by LT COL Eugene Henry Cabusao, Battalion Commander of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), newly designated Provincial Director PCOL Fitz A. Macariola of Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) and IA V Jigger Juniller, Provincial Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), respectively.

The DILG Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, facilitated a 3-day seminar-workshop on the Accreditation of Constructors’ Performance Evaluators (CPEs) on December 1-3, 2021 at Forest View Leisure Residences, El Kabayo Road, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, to continually provide technical support in the improvement and achievement of quality and timely delivery of infrastructure projects in the province.
The seminar-workshop aimed to familiarize and equip the provincial engineering office’s personnel on the actual application of Constructors Performance Evaluation System (CPES) methodology in the evaluation of the constructors’ performance thru early detection of problem areas encountered in the project and determination of appropriate corrective actions. The workshop also provided learnings on the necessary standards to ensure that the infrastructure projects are conformed with the specified requirements of project owners.
The said undertaking was participated in by the engineers and technical personnel from Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) , and Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) Focal Person of the Provincial Government of Zambales (PGZ).
Cluster Team Leader/LGOO VII Judith B. Romero expressed her gratitude for the active participation of everyone and emphasized the importance of the activity that will help them in assessing government projects and undertaking project evaluation.

Botolan, Zambales Municipal Mayor Doris E. Maniquiz, together with the local government unit’s Public Order and Safety (POPS) cluster — called on the stakeholders’ participation in promoting the safety, health and wellness of the Botoleños’ by doing their share to ramp up the vaccination turnout of the municipality— during its 4th quarter 2021 joint Municipal Peace and Order Council, Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council, Municipal Task Force- End Local Communist Armed Conflict and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council meeting on December 2, 2021 at the Municipal Hall Grounds.
Mayor Maniquiz, in her message underscored that vaccination remains the top protection of oneself especially that a new variant, Omicron has been detected and may also reach the country in a matter of time.
“Patuloy po tayong mag-iingat lalo ngayon na may bagong variant na mas nakakahawa. Kung kaya’t mahalaga na tayo po ay magpapabakuna. Tayo po ay medyo nahuhuli sa buong lalawigan.. mababa ang case natin ng pagpapabakuna, kaya nakikiusap po ako dahil ito lamang po ang paraan upang makaiwas tayo sa malubhang sakit… para na rin po mag-normalize na ang ating pamumuhay, once magkaroon tayo ng herd immunity… [kung saan] mas marami na ang bakunado at di na magkakahawahan.. maibabalik na ang dating sigla ng ating bayan. Kaya sana magpabakuna na po lahat,’’ she said, reiterating that vaccines work best against the disease.
