In a resounding testament to the dedication and effectiveness of Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPCs), the members of the Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF) concluded on April 8, 2024 a comprehensive validation process, at the DILG Provincial Office.

The PIMTF is chaired by DILG and co-chaired by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO). The members are the representatives from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Department of Education (DepEd), President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) and CSO-partner, International Holistic Engagement for Life and Progress (I-HELP). This evaluation, undertaken across diverse districts, sought to assess the functionality and impact of LCPCs in safeguarding the rights and well-being of children within the thirteen (13) local government units (LGUs) of Zambales.

There are four (4) focus areas of the assessment – organizational sustainability, policies and plans for children, budget for the local council for the protection of children, and service delivery monitoring and management for children.

The yearly LCPC functionality represents a pivotal step towards enhancing child protection policies and mechanisms while ensuring the holistic well-being of children within the province.##
