The Botolan Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) being led by Mayor Doris E. Maniquiz and Vice Mayor Doris D. Ladinesspearheaded the conduct of Serbisyo Caravana convergence of various national government agencies (NGAs), including the provincial government of Zambales (PGZ)to deliver services as they take note of the issues and concerns raised by the residents from the geographically isolated and displaced areas (GIDA) of Barangays Poonbato, Cabatuan, Maguisguis, Nacolcol and Villar— an effort to sustain the ideals of Executive Order No. 70 (Whole of Nation Approach) and the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP).

The undertaking held on December 16-18, 2020 was supported by several offices from the PGZ as well as various NGAs namely, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Health (DOH), and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

Residents of the five barangays availed the goods and services like free fertilizers, seeds and seedlings for planting of crops, medical and dental mission, grocery items and school supplies, free haircut,  one-on-one coaching with students and their parents, free supplements and medicine, deworming of animals, awarding of livelihood and skills training scholarship and allowance, agriculture-based training such as tilapia and poultry production, and free birth registration for delayed registrants, among othersbenefiting around 1200 families.

Mayor Doris E. Maniquiz signified her gratitude to the agencies and all other partners who accorded support to Botolan towards this advocacy. It was shared that the municipality is holding an annual gift-giving program namely ‘Baytan ko, Nilabi ko’ meaning love and care for people in the eastern barangays. She underscored that the additional services rendered by the partner agencies thru the serbisyo caravan as mandated under the RCSP program, are truly beneficial to the target communities.

In her message to the respective target communities, Mayor Maniquiz recognized the importance of unified efforts and the cooperation of the people in giving the community the best for a better and safe future, hence the slogan ‘Mitatambay (magtulungan), Milalamo (magsama-sama), Magkamiha (magkaisa), Milalabi (magmahalan),’ which has become the main core values of the municipal government to encourage the people to be active partners in the pursuit for peace and development. “Lagi kayong suportado [referring to the residents] ng munisipyo at ng ating mahal na governor,” she added.
