The Provincial Government of Zambales, under the leadership of Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr., in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales, successfully conducted the 2024 HONGLOY AWARDING ceremony on December 05, 2024 at Balin Sambali, Iba, Zambales. This significant event celebrated the outstanding contributions and accomplishments of Local Government Units (LGUs) across various local governance assessments.
The term “Hongloy,” derived from a Zambal word meaning “fuel”, embodies the initiative’s mission: Harmonizing Organization’s Intervention through nurturing a culture of Learning and Optimizing the ability of Knowledge Sharing in the Province of Zambales. The Hongloy is designed to ignite spirit of cooperation among local government units and have environment where knowledge sharing and best practices can thrive. This aligns with the overarching goal of empowering local officials and functionaries to better serve their communities, ultimately contributing to the province’s overall development.
During the ceremony, plaques of recognition and cash incentives were awarded to outstanding LGUs and barangays. Awards were given based on the successful outcomes in various areas including the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB), Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), Peace and Order Council (POC), Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC), Gawad KALASAG, Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Award (LTIA), Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and VAWC (LCAT-VAWC), and Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).
