The PAMMADAYAW, meaning "trust" in Ilocano, is an awarding and incentives program initiated by the local government unit (LGU) to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of barangays in fostering community development and good local governance.
The first PAMMADAYAW event was successfully conducted by the Municipality on September 30, 2024, at the Youth Center in Barangay Rizal. The program was conceptualized by LGOO VI Jephany M. Pingkihan, the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer of San Antonio, whose leadership has been instrumental in bringing the program to fruition.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales Provincial Director Martin Porres B. Moral, CESO V attended as guest of honor and delivered an inspiring message to the barangay officials. PD Moral commended their unwavering dedication and commitment and emphasize that awards do not only showcase the barangays' excellence in governance but also reflect the strong partnerships they maintain with the municipal government.
Mayor Hon. Edzel L. Lonzanida, MD, in his message, conveyed his gratitude to the barangay councils for their diligent efforts in delivering quality services through the implementation of programs that benefit the residents of San Antonio. He underscored that the awards and incentives represent the overall performance of the municipality—expressing his deep appreciation for the contributions of each barangay.
The highlight of the PAMMADAYAW 2024 was the awarding ceremony, which celebrated the outstanding achievements of the barangays in three categories: the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards (LTIA), Barangay-Based Institutions (BBIs), and the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays (SGLGB. Awardees received plaques and cash incentives, while consolation prizes and certificates were awarded to other participating barangays.
The festivities continued with dance performances from each barangay participant, further showcasing the spirit and rich culture of San Antonionians.
Vice Mayor Atty. Joseph Jonathan A. Bactad in his closing remarks, extended his congratulations to all participants and advocated for institutionalizing such activities to ensure continuous recognition of their efforts and strengthen the partnership between the barangays and the municipal government.
PAMMADAYAW 2024 marks a milestone in San Antonio's journey toward excellence in local governance and community development, setting a high standard for the years to come.
