Castillejos, Zambales. Barangay Nagbunga, Castillejos, Zambales headed by Punong Barangay Romeo D. Calimlim Jr. conducted their Barangay Assembly on October 9, 2016, 3:00pm at the Barangay Plaza. The barangay was identified as the Provincial Showcase of Zambales for the 2nd Semester Synchronized Barangay Assembly of 2016 with the theme “Para sa Isang Tunay na Pagbabago, Mag-MASID, Makisali at Makiisa sa Isang Maka-MASAng Asembleya”.
PB Calimlim delivered the State of the Barangay Address (SOBA) highlighting the barangay council’s accomplishments for the past semester and the future plans and programs to be implemented.
PB Calimlim said that the barangay officials only serve as managers of the barangay and the residents are all stakeholders who each have a part to carry out.
“Kami po ay manager lang ng barangay at kayo ang mga stakeholders, at kailangan po na magtulungan tayo para po maachieve natin ang isang mapayapa at maunlad na barangay” said PB Calimlim.
DILG Zambales Cluster Team Leader Deborah A. Mangayan read DILG Secretary Ismael Sueno’s message to the barangay. She said that the current priority of the administration is the focus of the Department’s MASA MASID program where everyone’s commitment is enjoined.
MASA MASID is envisioned to unite different organizations in creating a safer and drug-free community in the country. This program stresses the importance of multi-sectoral linkages in communities in combating the spread of illegal drugs, as well as corruption and criminality.
Also present during the Barangay Assembly are MLGOO Kristine Joy B. Pesimo, P/Insp. Edwin Bumanglag, BFP SFO2 Menandro Sebastian, representatives of the Philippine Army and other guests.
The regular conduct of Barangay Assembly is pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2016-124 and in consonance with Proclamation No. 260 dated September 30, 2011.
Province of Zambales intensifies crusade against Illegal Drugs

The Zambales Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by Acting Provincial Director PSSupt. Christopher J. Mateo initiated the mass oath taking of the newly constituted Provincial Anti- Illegal Drugs Convenors (PADC) and Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) on September 26, 2016 at Camp Conrado D. Yap, Iba, Zambales.
Governor Amor D. Deloso, Chairperson of the PADC and Member of the PAC, inducted the Pledge of Commitment among other members of the group. It was participated by Vice Governor Angelica M. Cheng, Vice-Chairperson of the PADC, PD Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, Chairperson of the Provincial Advisory Council, Local Chief Executives and other members from different sectors and agencies.
In his message, Governor Deloso gave emphasis on the bad effects of Illegal drugs to the human body, to a family, community and nation as whole. He also encouraged all, especially the members of the PADC & PAC to work together with passion in order to attain a peaceful, sound, happy and progressive community for the next generation.
The constitution of the PADC and PAC are in pursuit of strengthening and intensifying the campaign against Illegal Drugs and institutionalization of the PNP Performance Governance System (PGS).
The ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the Provincial Reformation Center or “Bahay Pagbabago” was conducted after the oath taking of the PADC and PAC members. The Bahay Pagbabago will serve as the Treatment and Rehabilitation Center for drug dependents.
Zambales PPOC conducts 3rd Quarter Meeting

The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of Zambales held their 3rd Quarter Meeting on August 23, 2016 at the Balin Sambali Hotel, Iba, Zambales. The meeting, presided by Governor Amor D. Deloso, is the first PPOC meeting under his administration.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Provincial Director PSSUPT Christopher J. Mateo presented the declining crime incidence in Zambales and provided updates on the anti-drug projects of PNP, “OPLAN: Tokhang” and “Double-Barrel.” While Major Gerardo Somera of the Armed Forces of the Philippines discussed the disposition of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and their role in securing vital installations in the province.
In his message, Governor Deloso sought the unity among members to achieve and properly sustain the peace and order situation in Zambales.
Also present were the members of the PPOC composed of Department Heads, Provincial Directors and representatives of DILG, PNP, AFP, BFP, DOJ, DPWH, DTI, and other guests.
