Three barangays in Central Luzon emerged as National Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Award (LTIA) winners for CY 2013 in the recently concluded nationwide LTIA assessment this year. These are Barangay Cataning, Balanga City as the national awardee for the component city category, Barangay Kitang II/Luz, Limay, Bataan as the national awardee for the 1st to 3rd class municipality Category and Barangay East Bajac-Bajac, Olongapo City as first runner-up for the Highly Urbanized City (HUC) Category.
Barangays Cataning and Kitang II/Luz will receive cash award of P300,000 each while Barangay East Bajac-Bajac will receive an amount of P100,000.
Region 3 has been consistent in hurdling national LTIA awards. Last year, Brgy. Tuyo, Balanga City was accorded a National Hall of Fame LTIA award for CY 2012 in the component city category while Brgy. East Bajac-Bajac ranked 2nd runner-up in the HUC category.
The LTIA was established pursuant to Section 406 (b) of the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991 which mandates the DILG to grant economic and other incentives to Lupong Tagapamayapa (LT) that demonstrates exemplary performance in settling disputes at the grassroots level particularly in attaining the objectives of the Katarungang Pambarangay.##

The Department of the Interior and Local Government is currently validating all 137 Local Government Units (LGUs) in Central Luzon which are vying for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). The SGLG or Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal, which originated from the Seal of Good Housekeeping (SGH) program in 2010 aims to provide greater challenge to LGUs to carry on the practice of good governance while providing better services to their constituents.

To provide the end-users essential hands-on information on how to make the full use of the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) application system, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III conducted the Training-Workshop on the Updated Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) Web Application System last May 13 -14, 2014 held at Oxford Hotel, Clark Special Economic Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga. The activity was attended by the 7 PCF Provincial Focal Persons and concerned Cluster Team Leaders. LGOO IV Joselito Magumun of BLGD and ITO I Nikko Madrilejos of ISTMS provided technical assistance and shared their expertise as Resource Speakers in the activity.
