                 AN AUDIO VIDEO PRESENTATION    

The first batch of barangay newly-elected officials from the Municipalities of Botolan, Iba, San Antonio and San Felipe, Zambales were trained under the Barangay Newly-Elected Officials (BNEO) towards Grassroots Renewal and Empowerment Accountable and Transparent (GREAT) Barangays Program from February 19, 2024 to February 21, 2024 at the Subic Peninsular Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone. 

The capacity training was spearheaded by the Liga ng Barangay (LnB) Zambales Provincial Chapter, through the leadership of Nestor E. Pacheco, LnB President,  in collaboration with the DILG Zambales. It aimed to provide orientation, training and skill development to help newly-elected officials better understand their roles and responsibilities in terms of barangay governance and administration.

DILG Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, CESO III, who graced the activity   encouraged the participants to build great barangays and inspire positive change in the community they serve.

The Barangay Newly-Elected Officials Program or BNEO is the Department's flagship training program for barangay officials. It is a term-based, integrated capacity development intervention for elected barangay officials geared towards the enhancement of their competencies to attain the needed synergy to transform barangay officials into champions of excellence in basic service delivery and bring the government closer to the people.

The orientation course for batches 2 and 3 from the remaining municipalities is set to be conducted on February 22-24, 2024 and March 6-8, 2024.
