Promoting and Realizing Child’s Rights: DILG Zambales conducts Orientation of the Child Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA)

In support of ensuring the progressive realization of the children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation, DILG Zambales, in partnership with the Provincial Government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), conducts the Provincial Orientation on the Revised Child Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) and Implementation Guidelines for Municipal Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (IMTF) on September 9, 2019 at the Polytechnic College of Botolan, Botolan, Zambales.
It served as a venue to provide the Local Government Units guidance in the conduct of the CFLGA, the audit process as well as the roles and responsibilities of each member of the IMTF. LGOO VII Melissa D. Nipal discussed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Philippine Development Plan (PDP) and CFLGA Relation. She also explained the CFLGA handbook and emphasized the point system to be used by the assessment teams. LGOO II Rose Ann D. Agostosa also enumerated the revised set of indicators for this year’s audit. The discussions also focused on the SDGs that will be responded by the revised CFLGA Indicators specifically, on the goals for children to have quality and improved way of life, safe and free from violence, abuse and exploitation.
