Sta. Cruz Receives 2nd Tranche for 2015 DILG-BUB Locally-Funded Projects

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales led by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, awarded the 2nd tranche of DILG Locally-Funded Projects for BuB 2015 of Sta. Cruz, Zambales worth Php 762,900.00, last April 27, 2016 at the DILG Provincial Office, Iba, Zambales. It was received by Engr. Jojo Meridor, MPDO, witnessed by Ms. Diana Ocampo, Clerk III from the Municipal Treasurer’s Office, Ms. Jane Nilo, 4Ps Parent Leader and LPRAP signatory and OIC-MLGOO Reden Morris M. Vergara.
The awarded funds is the 2nd tranche or 100%, of the total allotment amounting to Three Million Eight Hundred Fourteen Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P 3,814,500.00) intended for the two (2) identified BuB projects funded by the DILG namely, the Rehabilitation of the Sea Wall along Public Market and the Construction of Drainage System along N. Ela and N. Mose Street located at Poblacion South, Sta. Cruz, Zambales. Said projects are expected to be completed on the 2nd Quarter 2016.
LGU-Sta. Cruz is one of the pilot municipalities targeted by the DILG for the implementation of the Bottom-up Budgeting Program last 2014. As of this date, a total of Php 42,500,000.00 worth of projects, chosen by the different CSOs in the locality, was allocated and to be enjoyed by the people of Sta. Cruz, Zambales since the start of the program.
Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) is a program of the current administration that aims to alleviate poverty in the country and strengthen collaborative governance with the private sector as part of the “Daang-Matuwid”. Before, planning was solely lodged at the National Government but because of the said program, the people of the community was given a voice in identifying programs and projects that will truly answer their needs in the community.
