Today, January 15, 2024, DILG Tarlac's Locally Funded Project Team conducted a Project Monitoring and Site Inspection in Brgy. Iba, San Jose, Tarlac as part of the implementation of the Provincial Government’s FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance - Incentives Fund Project.

The said project entails 29 housing units, one (1) tribal hall, and four (4) deep wells for the use of our indigenous brothers and sisters which will surely improve the community’s quality of living, giving equal access to necessities and providing a comfortable shelter for all.

Engr. Cornelio Abad from the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), alongside Engr. II Gallajahd Tan, Engr. I Syndy Medrano, and PEO 1 John Harold David of DILG Tarlac were present to check if the entire project construction is compliant with the requirements to ensure that these will be delivered to the Indigenous Tarlaqueños right on time.

The Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) – Tarlac Chapter Election held on January 12, 2024, at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Conference Room, Tarlac City, marked a significant moment in local governance as LnB Presidents from the 18 local government units of Tarlac gathered to elect representatives who will steer the Province towards continuous development and progress.

Hon. Albert B. Jose of the Municipality of Camiling;

Hon. Elmer N. Corpuz of the Municipality of Mayantoc;

2. Hon. Arnold C. Arcilla of the Municipality of Capas;
3. Hon. Marlon E. Banag of the Municipality of Ramos;

The elected LnB – Tarlac Chapter Officers are entrusted with the responsibility of collaborating harmoniously to address the needs and aspirations of the communities for the welfare of the entire Province, alongside their roles and responsibilities in the respective city/municipalities that they serve.

DILG Tarlac’s Locally Funded Project Team, through the guidance of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, conducted an on-site validation and inspection of the three (3) projects funded under the FY 2023 Local Government Support Fund – Support to the Barangay Development Program (LGSF – SBDP) in Tarlac City, Tarlac on January 11, 2024.
The LGSF–SBDP is the Government’s priority program in ushering development and delivering basic services to the conflict-affected barangays in the country.
For the Province of Tarlac, the Barangays of Matatalaib, San Nicolas, and San Vicente in the City of Tarlac are the beneficiaries of classroom buildings funded under the said program.
DILG Tarlac, under the leadership of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V, proudly recognized the exceptional achievements of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Tarlac City, Sangguniang Bayan of Capas, and the Sangguniang Bayan of Pura in the 2023 Local Legislative Awards (LLA) on December 27, 2023 and January 8, 2024, respectively.
Mayor Roseller B. Rodriguez and Vice Mayor Alex C. Espinosa of Capas, Mayor John Paul Balmores and Vice Mayor Bernabe Edmilao of Pura, and Vice Mayor Genaro M. Mendoza of Tarlac City, alongside their respective Sangguniang Members, personally received their well-deserved plaques of recognition to celebrate their best practices in legislation. They have embodied excellence in formulating sound ordinances and resolutions contributing significantly to desirable socio-economic outcomes, and have set as models to other LGUs as well.
On the other hand, the dedication of DILG Tarlac Field Officers did not go unnoticed, as LGOO VI Robert C. Diola of DILG Tarlac City, LGOO VI Maria Teresa P. Marquez of DILG Capas, and LGOO VI Precious Ava E. Guevarra were presented with commendation plaques for their unparalleled technical assistance to their respective areas of responsibility.
Once again, DILG Tarlac congratulates the Tarlac City, and the Municipalities of Capas and Pura for their exemplary commitment to legislating measures that foster meaningful local administration and development!
DILG Tarlac, under the guidance of Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, actively participated in the national simultaneous clean-up drive on January 6, 2023. This engagement marked the launch of the KALINISAN sa Bagong Pilipinas Program (Kalinga sa Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
The event witnessed the involvement of DILG Tarlac’s City/Municipal Local Government Operations Officers, who coordinated with all the barangays under their jurisdiction that simultaneously conducted the clean-up. Additionally, DILG Tarlac’s Provincial Office Personnel actively participated in the clean-up activities within their respective barangays.
Conducted concurrently with the Annual Development Day celebration, the KALINISAN Program signifies a dedicated effort toward environmental stewardship. The program mobilizes volunteers to proactively address cleanliness issues, fostering a collective commitment to environmental mindfulness. As TALAs of Tarlac, we encourage everyone to be mindful of our environment - to always sustain cleanliness and promote stewardship for the next generations to also enjoy.
 

On January 6, 2024, all 511 barangays in the Province of Tarlac have come together to participate in the nationwide launch of the KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) sa Bagong Pilipinas Program, in accordance with DILG Memorandum Circular No. 001-2024. The event marks a significant step towards fostering a cleaner and more sustainable environment across the region.

The KALINISAN sa Bagong Pilipinas Program, aligned with the DILG's vision, aims to elevate public awareness and engagement in environmental responsibilities through effective waste management practices. The initiative strives to encourage local government units (LGUs) to make strategic investments in programs, projects, and activities that contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for all.

The program also calls for the establishment of a recognition system to commend LGUs with outstanding achievements in maintaining cleanliness and implementing successful waste management initiatives. This system aims to motivate LGUs to continuously improve and innovate in their efforts to create a clean and healthy environment for their communities.

The simultaneous launch reflects the unity and commitment of the 511 barangays in Tarlac to actively participate in the nationwide environmental campaign. The program seeks to instill a sense of responsibility among citizens, emphasizing the importance of proper waste disposal, recycling, and sustainable living practices.

The KALINISAN sa Bagong Pilipinas Program is expected to create a domino effect across the province, inspiring communities to work hand-in-hand on environmental initiatives that promote a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. It is a call to action for everyone, from local officials to the residents, to play an active role in preserving the beauty of our communities and contributing to a nationwide effort for a cleaner and greener Philippines.
