                 AN AUDIO VIDEO PRESENTATION    

Pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2019-72 and in its continuing effort to strengthen citizens’ participation in local governance, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales in coordination with the Provincial Government of Zambales led by Hon. Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr., conducted the Selection of Civil Society Organization (CSO) Representatives to the Local Special Bodies (LSBs) of the province on September 30, 2019 at Balin Sambali, Iba, Zambales.

The said issuance provides guidelines on the processes for accreditation and selection of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and their representatives to the local special bodies.

LGOO II Joanna Maureen S. Marasigan discussed to all nineteen (19) CSO representatives, who were accredited by the Provincial Government of Zambales through the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the functions of the LSBs and responsibilities of CSOs.

Likewise, DILG Zambales Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad and Governor Ebdane facilitated and presided the selection of the 10 CSOs to the three (3) local special bodies: (6) Local Development Council (LDC), (3) Local Peace and Order Council (LPOC) and  (1) Local School Board.

The selection of representatives was conducted in pursuit of intensifying the awareness and understanding of CSOs on the importance of civil society participation and to increase their capacity to effectively engage in local governance.
