The Municipality of Magalang proudly inaugurated its Street Lights Project on November 19, 2024. The project, funded by the DILG’s Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), installed LED streetlights along the Angeles-Magalang Road and the Poblacion area to make roads safer and more secure for everyone.
The project was made possible after Magalang passed the Seal of Good Local Governance in 2023. Barangay Kagawad Ricardo Lacson shared how the new lights have changed the community. In his statement, he said "Dati, madilim ang kalsada at maraming aksidente. Ngayon, maliwanag na at mas ligtas para sa lahat. Maraming salamat kay Mayora, sa DILG, at sa SGLGIF para sa proyektong ito."
"Sa tingin ng iba, simpleng ilaw lang ito, pero para sa akin, simbolo ito ng dedikasyon natin sa kaligtasan at seguridad ng ating mga Kabalen." These were the words of Mayor Maria Lourdes “Malu” Paras Lacson as she explained what the lights mean to her.
The new streetlights, completed last April 8, 2024, bring brighter nights and safer journeys for the people of Magalang, showing the town’s commitment to progress and community welfare.
