BAGAC, Bataan, March 08 - In support to the Regional Task Force ELCAC 3 Community Consultation, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano attended the Disaffiliation of Gabriela Women's Party – Bagac Chapter and witnessed the signing of the pledge & commitment to EO No. 70 National Task Force – End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).

In her message, she stressed that the group which will be now known as SAMAKABA, should take advantage of the opportunity to be part of local governance by being recognized as a legitimate CSO and eventually be accredited by the Sangguniang Bayan.

As such, they may now be included in the selection of CSO membership in relevant Local Special Bodies which would be an avenue for their voice to be heard and be a partner in developmental undertakings of the Municipality of Bagac.

Usec. Lorraine Badoy, spokesperson of NTF-ELCAC, said that "good governance" is the key so that women, men and youth are not deceived by the armed conflicts and threats from the armed groups. Further, Usec Badoy said that she hoped that by bringing the different national agencies down to the municipality, the women will now feel the presence of the government which is the ultimate goal of the activity.

In a symbolic gesture, Ms. Helen Tolentino, leader of the group, led the ceremonial burning of the CPP Flag and Gabriela logo to show their renouncement from the Gabriela Women's Party.
Also in attendance were Dir. Ma. Luisa de Guzman of NICA R3, Dir. William Beltran of PIA R3 and representatives of the national government agencies in the region.
