"Kung lahat ng Pilipino katulad mo, uunlad ba ang Pilipinas?" – Pinas Forward
As Linggo ng Kabataan wraps up its final day, the very first Provincial Youth Congress in Bataan opened up with empowering talks and lectures for young leaders at Lou-is Resort and Restaurant, Balanga City on August 16, 2019.
In relation with International Youth Day's 2019 theme, "Transforming Education," the congress focused on forums about youth leadership and volunteerism.
Provincial Government of Bataan and its Youth Council also anchored the activity with Pinas Forward –an advocacy for nation-building to reinforce the Filipinos' innate capacity dream, lead and pioneer social change.
According to Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Bataan Manager Jose Mari Garcia, different youth congress anchored to Pinas Forward were also happening simultaneously around the Philippines to further push youth empowerment. Speakers Meynard Reyes, Mark Gomez and Gladys Brillante talked about various topics regarding the use of technology to achieve national progress.
"Lahat pwedeng magpuno. Lahat ay pinuno," said Reyes during his discussion about rediscovering Filipino leadership.
Various schools and youth organizations participated from the lecture proper to the interactive activities.
During her opening remarks, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Marilyn Tigas reminded the future leaders to be responsible in their duties for the country. In behalf of Governor Albert S. Garcia, Board Member Goding Ferrer also graced the event.
