This year's first Umalohokan initiative was successfully held today, as a Provincial Orientation on the 2024 Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Enhanced Criteria and Guidelines.
The online activity was attended by C/MLGOOs, punong barangays, barangay secretaries, and lupon members.
In her opening message, PD Belina Herman emphasized the importance of the LTIA in recognizing the efforts of barangays in resolving disputes using the traditional justice system. She also highlighted the importance of the lupon’s commitment to providing efficient public service through the effective implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay.
Meanwhile, LGOO V Joanna Marie Cruz explained the assessment criteria, documents to be submitted, and deadline for submission. Participants, on the other hand, were given the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had regarding the enhanced criteria.
The program concluded with a closing remarks from CTL Cristy M. Blanco, who expressed her gratitude to all the participants for their active participation and commitment to upholding the principles of the LTIA.
LTIA is a recognition program of the DILG geared towards incentivizing exemplary performance of lupons and promotes the Katarungang Pambarangay as an indigenous conflict resolution mechanism at the grassroots.
