DILG Bataan's Locally-Funded Projects (LFP) Unit, under the leadership of PD Belina Herman CESO V, hosted a provincial orientation today via zoom focused on the FY 2023 Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) Functionality Assessment.

This initiative, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of LPMCs from Bataan LGUs, aligns with the timeline outlined in Regional Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 2024-006.

During the session, ENGR II Eljay Teopengco provided insights into the background, scope, purpose, policy content, and guidelines of the LPMC, drawing from previous issuances and the current RMC. Subsequently, ENGR III Jean Margarette Dimaano detailed the roles and responsibilities of the LPMC and presented the LPMC tools with the corresponding activity process flow.

Following the presentations, ENGR III Jamesnick Seramines shared updates on the Local Government Support Fund projects in the province and outlined upcoming activities. Meanwhile, concerns and queries from participants, including C/MLGOOs, LGU functionaries, and representatives from various civil society organizations, were addressed by the presenters and LFP Focal Person LGOO II Mark Angelo Pumares.

The event concluded with words from Cluster Team Leader Cristy Blanco, reiterating the notion that while the functionality assessment is not currently included as an indicator for the Seal of Good Local Governance, it serves as a tool to train the LPMCs for its possible inclusion in the near future.
