As part of the Suporta, Aksyon at Ugnayan para sa Pamahalang Lokal (SAUP) series of Ing Kulitan, DILG Pampanga spearheads the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards (LTIA) coordination meeting cum needs assessment today, February 02, 2023.

The meeting is the first of many activities lined up by the Provincial Office focused on providing capdev interventions to 2022 LTIA provincial contenders in preparation for the upcoming audit.

The intervention also includes coaching sessions with members of the target Lupons and follow-through meetings with the Provincial LTIA Team.

A province-wide Capacity Development Training for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Local Special Bodies (LSBs) was conducted on January 26-27, 2023.

The program consisted of three (3) activities. Trainings were conducted separately for each LSB (Local Development Council, Local Health Board, and Local School Board) in the province.

Participated by the representative-organizations of the LDC, LHB, and LScB in all LGUs of the province, the CSO CapDev aimed to enhance the awareness and understanding of CSOs on the importance of their role as members of the LSBs and to increase their capacity to effectively engage in local governance.

In line with the continuous efforts of the Department to capacitate the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, the DILG Pampanga conducted the Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (SICAP-BADAC), a two-day activity attended by the BADAC members of 505 barangays in the province.

Lectures crucial to the functions and responsibilities of BADACs were comprehensively discussed by resource persons from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Philippine National Police (PNP).

In her message, PD Myra Moral-Soriano laid down the various strategies of the government against illegal drugs and stressed the importance of the BADACs in effectively and successfully executing these strategies on the ground. PD Soriano also enjoined their active participation during the activity to fully understand their roles in this whole-of-nation approach to the war on drugs.

SICAP BADAC aims to empower the BADAC members and help them be focused and responsive to various anti-illegal drug efforts being implemented in their area of responsibility. The activity also served as an avenue to address the concerns about the upcoming FY 2023 BADAC Functionality Audit.
