cabiao inaug

The Local Government Unit of Cabiao, in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), unveils the newly constructed “Municipal Housing Project Phase V” in Barangay Sta. Rita, Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, December 18, 2024. The project came into fruition through the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), an incentive given by the DILG to support the priority projects of LGUs who were conferred with the Seal.
The unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Honorable Mayor Ramil B. Rivera and also participated in by the DILG Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., CESO V.
LGU Cabiao allocated their Php 1,800,000.00 SGLG Incentive Fund to supplement the aforementioned municipal housing project, supporting the mandate of the Manila Bay Cleanup, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program and addressing the need for safe and dignified shelter for its underprivileged sector dwelling in hazardous and dangerous areas along the river banks and waterways. The project added five (5) housing units to accommodate informal settler families that are affected by the relocation.
Each unit has a floor area of 27 square meters with amenities that will comfortably shelter the families and help improve their quality of living by providing them with clean water, sanitation, and electricity.
The additional housing units constructed under the SGLGIF of the DILG aim to alleviate the poor living conditions faced by the informal settlers of the municipality. This provides them with stability and security while also allowing them to significantly improve their quality of life by bringing them closer to quality healthcare, education, and other essential services for the community.
This Municipal Housing Project of LGU Cabiao is a testament to how the SGLGIF Program of the DILG is helping LGUs achieve their goal of becoming exemplary in delivering improved basic services to their constituents.
