The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales held its monthly Provincial Team Conference (PTC) on November 4, 2024, at the DILG Zambales Provincial Office. Field officers and provincial office personnel gathered to share insights, align strategies, and set plans for the coming months—reflecting the Department's unwavering commitment to providing quality service to Zambaleños.
During the meeting, LGOO II Carla G. Maranoc provided updates on report submissions from field officers regarding programs under the Monitoring and Evaluation Section (MES). As part of her discussion, the process of the Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) was revisited, considering the numerous requests received by the office. She also reiterated the Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) process to ensure a shared understanding on the steps and documentations required.
In his message, Provincial Director Martin Porres B. Moral, CESO V, conveyed critical concerns and issues discussed during their recent meeting with the new DILG Secretary, Juanito Victor C. Remulla, focusing on the plans to effectively implement the Department's programs, projects, and activities (PPAs). PD Moral underscored the significance of the plans which will be the guiding framework of the Department for the next three (3) years.
LGOO V Jacqueline A. Calimlim, Capability Development Section (CDS) Chief, provided updates on the current activities and reports under CDS. One of the concerns addressed was the presence of Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Plan (CBJIP) from the 13 LGUs. Proposed dates for conducting a workshop on the formulation of the plan were gathered and consolidated to expedite its development and assist the LGU during workshop. Additionally, she presented the West Philippine Sea (WPS) Provincial Action Plan, emphasizing its significance in addressing concerns and promoting peace and order. The team reached a consensus to issue an advisory directing the Peace and Order Councils to formulate a resolution adopting the said plan.
In preparation for the upcoming Quality Management System (QMS) Assessment, LGOO V Aljon S. Bautista, MES Chief and QMS Provincial Focal, presented the QMS schedule and plan, reminding process owners and MLGOOs of their roles during the assessment.
Meanwhile, LGOO VII Melissa D. Nipal, Cluster Team Leader, addressed concerns regarding upcoming provincial activities, including the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Exit Conference and 4th Quarter Joint PPOC, PADAC and PTF-ELCAC meeting.
The conference served as a platform for team members to discuss strategies, address challenges in program implementation, and coordinate plans for the rest of the year as the team engaged in a meaningful discussion about challenges faced, agreeing on actionable steps.
Afterwards, LGOO V Calimlim facilitated the weekly ZamBalance Break activity, with Field Officers participating for the first time. This included a presentation on Tips for Staying Healthy at Work and distributing hygiene kits to all staff, promoting holistic wellness among personnel—as part of the office’s Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives.
As 2024 drawing to a close, DILG Zambales remains committed to enhancing its performance, fostering inclusivity, and delivering high-quality service across the province.
