The Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council chaired by Governor Dennis G. Pineda held its last meeting for the year, today, December 6, 2022, at Kingsborough International Convention Center and passed four resolutions including the confirmation of CSO members to both councils and the approval of the Province’s Local Anti-Drug Plan of Action for 2023-2025.
The joint council also recognized the two policemen of PNP Mabalacat who were killed while in the line of duty, and another PDEA agent who died during an anti-narcotics operation. Subsequently, a resolution was passed approving the amount of Php100,000 to be given to the families of the victims.
In his message, Governor Pineda challenged the PNP to further amplify its anti-criminality and anti-illegal drugs efforts to ensure peace and order and security in the province especially during the holidays.
Meanwhile, DILG Pampanga Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano presented to the Council the 14 SGLG Passers of the province, the highest number of passers in Region 3. Pampanga also produced three 2021 National ADAC Awardees and 11 Regional Awardees. PD Soriano shared that DILG Pampanga is currently conducting SGLG exit conferences in LGUs with special focus on those that did not make the cut this year to help them prepare for next year’s assessment.
Lastly, AFP and PDEA gave updates on matters pertaining to internal peace and security as well as the illegal drugs situation and drug clearing activities in the province.
