To prioritize and harmonize the government's delivery of basic services and empower target sectors to achieve inclusive peace and development, DILG Bataan launched the Capacitating Urban Communities for Peace and Development (CUCPD) program at Bagac Elementary School on December 7, 2021.

The CUCPD program is a platform for convergence and collaboration among stakeholders aimed at improving the institutional capacity of identified LGUs to undertake development-oriented and peace-building programs to resolve the prevailing and emerging local issues of the most vulnerable sectors.

The activity was attended by the women and labor sector, youth and students and the urban poor, mostly from Brgy. Pag-Asa.

DILG Bataan Cluster Head Melissa Nipal presented the key features of CUCPD, as well as discussed the first two steps of its implementation process: (1) consultation of primary issues and concerns of each sector and (2) identification of sectors most in need of viable solutions.

A workshop was also facilitated to identify sectoral concerns and suggestions. Participants proposed for the provision of livelihood trainings and assistance based on their outputs.

The CUCPD launch was also graced by Sangguniang Bayan Member Noel Dela Rosa and PB John Harry Carreon of Brgy. Pag-Asa. MLGOO Catherine Aduna and LGOO III Danilyn Pena also assisted for the effective conduct of the activity.
