DILG Bataan headed the Barangay Environmental Compliance Audit (BECA) provincial validation at the DILG Bataan Provincial Office, City of Balanga on November 3, 2021.
The BECA Provincial Assessment Committee (PAC) was led by Provincial Director Myra Moral-Soriano, with DENR-PENR office chief Raul Mamac, PENRO Manila Bay focal person Miguela Ramirez and Bataan Host Lion's Club president Carolina Santiago as the audit's CSO representative.
Program Manager Allan Don Malonzo and focal persons ADAS II Russel Jasper Rabacio and LGOO II Donna Joy Nacar also provided assistance in the validation.
BECA documents and modes of verification (MOVs) of barangays submitted by the City/Municipal Assessment Committees (C/MACs) that ranked first in their level were evaluated and assessed by PAC. Upon further review, PAC approved a unified decision on which barangays will represent Bataan in the city and municipal category for the regional level assessment.
The DILG, through the Manila Bay Clean-up, Preservation and Rehabilitation Program (MBCRPP), developed BECA to assess the compliance of barangays to the pertinent provisions of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
The BECA regional best performing barangays will be conferred with plaques of excellence and cash prizes to be utilized for environmental programs and projects.
