The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Bataan Chapter, in cooperation with DILG Bataan, held a local legislation development training for Sangguniang Panlungsod and Bayan Members in the province titled "Systemized and Transformed Engagement of Process towards a Unified and Performing Sanggunian (STEP UP!) for Effective and Responsive Legislation at the Segara Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone on October 28-30, 2019.
The development training gathered participants from the 12 local government units of Bataan (one city and 11 municipalities) composed of Vice Mayors, Sangguniang Panlungsod and Bayan Members, Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) Presidents, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation Presidents and personnel from DILG Bataan.
Noel Joseph Valdecanas, PCL Bataan Chapter President, in his message, encouraged the local sanggunians to advance their knowledge on the technical aspects of local legislative programs.
The three-day activity, which was composed of seven sessions, focused on the context and processes on local legislation and also relevant topics commonly encountered by the local sanggunians:
