In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of local government projects, the DILG Central Office validators, in coordination with the DILG Regional Office, conducted the National On-Site Validation and Spot-Checking of Fiscal Year 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) projects on November 19-20, 2024.
Among the sites visited were the Municipalities of Pilar and Dinalupihan in Bataan.
In Pilar, validators reviewed the purchase and utilization of one (1) unit patrol vehicle intended to enhance local peace and order initiatives. The inspection was conducted on Day 1, with validators holding interviews with local officials and end-users to assess the impact and compliance of the project with SGLGIF guidelines.
Meanwhile, on Day 2, the team proceeded to Dinalupihan to evaluate the construction of a cafeteria aimed at promoting economic activity and providing livelihood opportunities for residents. Similar interviews were held with local government officials and project beneficiaries to ensure proper implementation and alignment with the municipality’s development goals.
Results of the validation will be instrumental in determining the effectiveness of these projects in fostering inclusive development and improving public service delivery.
