The respective lupons of Barangay Cupang Proper in Balanga City, Barangay Mulawin of Orani, and Barangay Sta. Lucia in Samal braved the onsite validation and assessment by the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards Regional Awards Committee (LTIA RAC) on May 6-7, 2024.
During the first day of the activity, the RAC assessed Barangay Cupang Proper for the 1st to 3rd Class City Category and Barangay Mulawin for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipality Category. The barangay officials, headed by Punong Barangay (PB) Alicia Sacdalan and PB Marvin Dela Cruz respectively, presented their documented transactions in settling disputes, as well as their innovative practices and active approaches in peace and conflict resolution.
Moreover, the assessment continued yesterday in Barangay Sta. Lucia, which was evaluated for the 4th to 6th Class Municipality Category. PB Ruperto Forbes presented their accomplishments and initiatives in promoting peace and harmony within the community.
The series of onsite validation was graced by Vice Governor/ Acting Governor Cris Garcia, Board Member/ Acting Vice Governor Atty. Tony Boy Roman, Orani Mayor Bondjong Pascual, Samal Mayor Alex Acuzar, Samal Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra, and four members of the sangguniang panlungsod as representatives of City Mayor Francis Garcia.
DILG Bataan PD Belina Herman CESO V, Cluster Head Cristy Blanco, LGOO V Joanna Marie Cruz, and ADAS II Vangie Rodriguez were also present during the assessments. The lupons of the subject barangays were guided by their field officers in the name of CLGOO Mildred Sazon, MLGOO Catherine Aduna and MLGOO Haidee Balicolon.
Remarkably this year is historic for Bataan as it marks the first time the province had nominees in all three categories, underscoring the dedication and hard work of lupons in the area.
