BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) Provincial Awards Committee convened yesterday, April 8, 2024, at The Bunker, to evaluate the nominees for the Most Outstanding Lupons in the province for the three categories.
The committee is chaired by DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman CESO V and assisted by LGOO V Joanna Marie Cruz as the Provincial Focal Person of LTIA. The members are representatives from the Regional Trial Court, PNP Bataan, Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Chapter, and United Architect of The Philippines Bataan Peninsulares Chapter, as the NGO representative. The team assessed the nominees submitted by the city and municipal awards committees.
Bringing home the provincial award for the 1st to 3rd Class City Category is Barangay Cupang Proper in Balanga City.
Meanwhile, for the 1st to 3rd Class Municipality category, Barangay Mulawin, Orani and Barangay San Ramon, Dinalupihan tied for the top spot. After a thorough deliberation by the committee, Barangay Mulawin in Orani was ultimately ranked as the first-place winner, with Barangay San Ramon in Dinalupihan following closely behind in second place.
Furthermore, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Samal was declared the winner for the 4th to 6th Class Municipality Category.
This year marks the first time that Bataan had nominees in all three categories, showcasing the dedication and hard work of lupons in the province. Cupang Proper, Mulawin, and Sta. Lucia will advance to the Regional Assessment Committee to compete against other winners from neighboring provinces in the region.
The LTIA program aims to recognize and provide incentives to lupons for their outstanding efforts in promoting peace and resolving conflicts at the grassroots level through the Katarungang Pambarangay law.
