The DILG Regional Office 3, together with the RPOC Technical Working Group members, had  its 2nd workshop on the Integrated Area/Community Public Safety Plan (IA/CPSP) for CY 2013-2016 in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City on November 22-23, 2012. The objective of the activity was to finalize the Regional IA/CPSP which was drafted last October before it could be presented to the Regional Peace and Order Council.

In order to respond better to the pressing issues concerning coastal areas, DILG R3 invited the Philippine Coast Guard and the PNP Maritime Group to provide insights and updates on the peace and  order situation in Region 3 coastal areas.

Updates on the current peace and order situation in Region 3 related to dangerous drugs, criminality and internal security were presented by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the 7th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army among others.

Station Commander Roben De Guzman of the Philippine Coast Guard expressed his appreciation to the group during his presentation for inviting them to participate in the activity. He also shared PCG’s services in line with their duties and functions as mandated by law in relation to maintaining peace and security.

Likewise, PSSUPT Rolando G. Rama of the PNP Maritime Group thanked DILG Region 3 for including the PNP Maritime Group in the workshop and stated that the activity was a big leap in strengthening the security in all the coastal areas of  Region 3.

Regional Director Florida Dijan of DILG welcomed and extended her gratitude to the participants for their support to the activity. She also participated in the discussion during the workshop.

The two-day activity was facilitated by the staff of the Monitoring & Evaluation Division headed by MED Chief Ms. Lerrie S. Hernandez.
