The municipality of Masantol received P1 Million on the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) Program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on March 10, 2014.  DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, assisted by Cluster Team Leader/LGOO VI Rufino M. Abalos and MLGOO Delilia De Leon awarded the check to Mayor Danilo S. Guintu during the municipality’s Flag Raising Ceremony.         

   PD Fabia, in her message, encouraged the LGU to continue its efforts towards the betterment of the lives of its constituents.  She said that the municipality of Masantol is the second recipient of SALINTUBIG Program in the province of Pampanga.

   Mayor Guintu, on the other hand, extended his appreciation to DILG for the grant they have received.  He further stressed the importance of the program in providing adequate water supply facilities and services as well as in having a clean and safe water to the community particularly the constituents in the coastal area.

   Meanwhile, LUWA has allocated 1.7M as counterpart fund to the program.  The grant will benefit more or less 300 families from coastal barangays of Puti and San Agustin in the municipality.

   DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan together with Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol- Fabia, OIC- CDD Chief Martin Porres Moral and LGOO V Rosana Lopez of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga awarded the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) check amounting to One Million Pesos to the Municipality.

   The check was awarded during the simple Flag Raising Ceremony on February 24, 2014. It was received by Mayor Joselito F. Naguit, Vice- Mayor Mark Louie T. Arceo and members of the Sanggunian Bayan and witnessed by barangay officials and municipal employees.

    RD Dijan congratulated the officials and employees of the LGU.  “Sana’y ang insentibong ito ay maging inspirasyon ng bawa’t opisyal at empleyado upang patuloy na maitaas ang antas ng mabuting pamamahala,” she said.

   The PCF is being awarded to LGUs that display transparency and accountability in managing their financial affairs.

   With the purpose of maintaining its current international certifications on standardization, selected personnel of the City Government of San Fernando attend a three-part seminar series on ISO (International Organization for Standardization) on January 11, 14 and 16 at the Heroes Hall.
