Ceremonial Signing of MOA between PENRO and BPSU, held at Villa Amanda Resort & Restaurant, Abucay, Bataan on November 18, 2013.   One of the priority activities in the implementation of the Supreme Court decision regarding rehabilitation, clean-up and restoration of Manila Bay is the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Integrated Information, Education and Communication Plan (IEC) Plan for Manila Bay.

  

    Balanga City, Bataan, November 8, 2013 - Barangay Kitang II and Cataning of Limay and Balanga City, respectively, bear their effort for being finalists to the LTIA National Level. The National Validation Team was composed of Justice Bernardo Abesamis, State Prosecutor Marmarie Satin-Vivas, State Prosecutor Christina Dugay, Atty. Edmund Abesamis, Dir. Myrna Medina from NAPOLCOM and BLGS Asst. Dir. Mariano Gabito.

 

 

 

   The Local Government Unit of Samal, Bataan, in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Samal has organized various activities in line with the celebration of the 22nd Anniversary of the Local Government Code of 1991 last October 14, 2013.

   To combat the province’s growing problem on Solid Waste Management, the municipal government of Limay, Bataan thru the Office of the Mayor in coordination with the Department of the Interior and Local Government of Limay conducted an activity entitled “Orientation-Briefing on Ecological Solid Waste Management”. The activity was held on May 21, 2013 at Duale Elementary School, Brgy. Duale, Limay, Bataan. It was attended by Punong Barangays, Barangay Kagawads, Tanods and members of the Indigenous community of Barangay Duale as pilot barangay. The Municipal Mayor, SB Member (Comm. Chairman on Environment), Municipal Engineer, Municipal Agriculture Office, Liga ng mga Barangay, and Office of the Municipal Administrator were also present during the activity.

With the end in view of empowering the 25 barangays in the City of Balanga by way of promoting social consciousness among the local elective leaders, the Barangay Week Program (Version 2), again, is being implemented in the City of Balanga, Province of Bataan by the honorable Jose Enrique S. Garcia III supported by the esteemed Governor Enrique T. Garcia, Jr. and 2nd District Congressional Representative Albert Raymond S. Garcia.

As an expanded version of the Barangay Assembly, the core of the said program, now on its 4th year of implementation, is the provision, through consultation with community leaders and local folks alike, of the basic needs of the community  as well as the promotion of transparency among barangay leaders. The linchpin of the program is the guiding principle that sustainable development could be achieved collectively from the   grassroots level of governance coupled with active participation of the barangay constituents and other stakeholders all committed to share their expertise, resources and common desire to come up with a master piece of delivering to the ordinary folks a package of programs and projects such as  Orientation on Katarungang Pambarangay, Barangay Performance Management System, Barangay Health Day, Financial Management, Disaster Prevention and Solid Waste Management, among others.

Giving spirit and substance to the program, the City Mayor and all other stakeholders held five (5) Barangay Week cum Barangay Assembly program for this quarter of CY 2012. The most recent of which was conducted in Barangay Tortugas, whereby Honorable Mayor Garcia was welcomed by the local folks through singing of their official barangay hymn entitled “ Hawakan Mo Ang Bukas” (Hold On To The Future).

On that event, the members of the said Sangguniang Barangay led by Punong Barangay Victor A. Baluyot, Jr., like all the rest who conducted Barangay Week in the said locality, reported their accomplishments vis-à-vis programs and plans they presented on the last barangay assembly in October CY 2011.                  

   To ensure validity and completeness of Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS) Data of CY 2012, the Provincial Team composed of OIC-CTL Yvette Cosio, LGPMS Focal Person Cristy Blanco, LGOO II Jesusa Margallo, LGOO II Catherine Aduna and ADAS II Johnny Mandocdoc conducted field visits in all component LGUs of Bataan including the City of Balanga, on March 4-8, 2013.
