The Regional Management Coordinating Committee or RMCC in Region 3 held its regular meeting last November 21, 2013 at the DILG Regional Office 3, Maimpis, CSFP. It was attended by representatives from the Philippine Public Safety College Regional Training School (PPSC-RTS), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire (BFP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Significant topics discussed were the continuous efforts done by the government on disaster preparedness and upcoming assumption of the new sets of barangay officials on December 1, 2013.
Some of the issues and concerns discussed were the high increase of crime volume in Region 3, lack of equipment for search and rescue during calamity, no appointed RPOC Chairman, and enforcement of R.A. 7183 regarding the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan asked everyone’s cooperation and support for the peaceful transition of barangay officials. She said that the meeting was a great venue to effectively strengthen their coordination and linkages. In closing, she thanked all the member agencies and ensured them that they can always count on DILG’s support.
