Sixteen barangays from various cities and municipalities in Pampanga were critiqued by the Pampanga Provincial Awards Committee (PAC) on an Initial Table Evaluation held at the DILG Pampanga Provincial Office yesterday, February 16.
The evaluation aims to seek for the best entry for the annual Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) in hopes to be recognized in the regional and national limelight in the component city, 1st to 3rd class, and 4thto 6th class category.
Winning entry shall bring home the prestigious award and a satiable incentive in form of financial subsidy to be translated into various barangay projects and programs.
According to Department of the Interior and Local Government Pampanga Director and PAC Chairperson Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, the PAC found the evaluation a bit tricky and difficult due to the remarkable improvement on this year’s entry.
“The official entries submitted by aspiring barangays to bring home the awards showed impressive development. This only proves that the observance of barangay justice system in province is on its paramount commitment, and also that the department’s [DILG] efforts in training and providing capacity development to barangay officials and pangkat lupon are effective and efficient,” PD Fabia shared.
An ensuing barangay on-site validation by the PAC on official provincial entries are set today, February 16 and on Friday, February 18.
The Provincial Awards Committee is chaired by PD Fabia, with members Liga ng mga Barangay President Atty. Gerome Tubig, Philippine National Police Pampanga Director Rodolfo Recomo Jr., Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Divina Luz Simbulan, Pampanga Provincial Prosecutor Atty. Lamberto Gonzalez Jr., and Miss Clarita Magtoto as Civil Society Organization representative.
