MALOLOS CITY, BULACAN- Twenty-one (21) barangays in the Municipality of Hagonoy, Bulacan sent their respective MASA MASID team representatives to the orientation on "MASA MASID: Community Based Rehabilitation Program" conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - Province of Bulacan. It was held on February 13, 2017 at Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, Malolos City, Bulacan.


Consists of representatives from the Faith Based Organizations, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)/ Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC)/ Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) and other Barangay volunteers, these organized Barangay MASA MASID Teams (MMTs) were oriented by DILG Bulacan officers Imelda Magat, Lydia Baltazar and Victoria Gabe on their roles and responsibilities in implementing the said program.
DILG Bulacan Provincial Director Darwin David, on his message, encouraged the active participation of the MMTs to successfully suppress criminality, corruption and illegal drugs as well as their support to effectively implement the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program.
Likewise, Hon. Raulito Manlapaz, Municipal Mayor of Hagonoy, Bulacan and PNP Hagonoy PCInsp. Restituto Granil graced the activity to extend their support on the program, further emphasizing the importance of community involvement to sustain peace and order in the municipality.
Meanwhile, Municipalities of Balagtas, Guiguinto, Calumpit and Bustos are scheduled to undertake the same activity this February.
MASA MASID aims to heighten community involvement by mobilizing the support of local stakeholders, volunteers, civic organizations, faith based-organizations, and faith based sectors in the fight against criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
