As part of the Department's initiative to continuously provide assistance to LGUs in the Manila Bay Program, the DILG Pampanga launched a retooling activity dubbed as "AntaBAY: Coaching, Preparation, and Intervention on the Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program" via Google Meet last February 18, 2022.

The activity, anchored on the implementation of MBCRPP, serves as a reorientation of various regular reports and assessments of Manila Bay to advance the level of compliance of local government units as part of its mandate stated in RA 9003 or the Ecological Waste Management Act of 2000.

Highlights of the activity were the presentation of the assessment results from 2019 to present and the discussion of issues encountered per indicator area. Provincial Manila Bay focal person Jeffrey Dale David apprised the LGU focal persons with recommendations based on the observed issues to increase their scores in the coming assessments. Target LGUs were Lubao, Masantol, San Simon and Sta. Ana.

The activity is the first step in a series of activities aimed at providing assistance in pursuit of a cleaner and safer environment for all Cabalens.
