In an effort to strengthen local governance and promote peace and order in communities, an online refresher and enhancement training session was held yesterday for lupon members in preparation for the CY 2025 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA). Conducted via Zoom, the event focused on key aspects of the LTIA criteria and guidelines, as well as effective settlement techniques that can be applied at the barangay level.
The session commenced with an opening remarks from PD Belina T. Herman, CESO V, who underscored that the LTIA is not merely an award but a recognition of the dedicated efforts made by local government units (LGUs) to foster efficient and effective governance. "Ang LTIA ay hindi lang isang parangal, ito ay para magkaroon ng peaceful and orderly LGUs. Ito ang resulta ng inyong ginawa para maging mas epektibo at mahusay na LGUs," she stated, inspiring participants to take pride in their contributions to community development.
The training featured an in-depth discussion led by LGOO V Joanna Marie M. Cruz, who emphasized the importance of mastering various settlement techniques that can be implemented within barangays. Her insights provided participants with practical strategies for effective dispute resolution, which are crucial for maintaining harmony within the community. Joanna encouraged attendees to actively apply these techniques in their daily interactions, thereby enhancing their roles as mediators in local disputes.
Additionally, LGOO II Vangie C. Rodriguez enriched the session by guiding the DILG Field Officers through the LTIA Information System (LTIA-IS), a web-based application developed by the DILG Information System and Technology Management Services.
The event concluded with closing remarks from LGOO VII Cristy M. Blanco, Cluster Head, who reiterated the significance of the LTIA in promoting peace and order within local communities. She encouraged participants to implement the techniques learned during the training to ensure their barangays are well-prepared for the LTIA assessment.
The CY 2025 LTIA is a prestigious recognition aimed at encouraging barangays to enhance their dispute resolution mechanisms, thereby contributing to the overall welfare and stability of local communities.
