For the first time in Bataan’s history, all 12 city and municipal local government units (LGUs) have successfully passed the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), a milestone in the province’s commitment to child welfare.
The achievement was recognized during the Regional Awarding Ceremony for the 2023 CFLGA Passers at the Kingsborough International Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, on February 18, 2025. Led by the Department of Social Welfare & Development & the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Region 3, the event honored LGUs that met national child-friendly governance standards.
DILG Region III Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda CESO III and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Asst. Regional Director for Administration Maribel M. Blanco attended the ceremony together with principals, staff and personnel from CWC and membes of RSCWC. DILG provincial and HUC directors, local chief executives, LSWDOs and other partner agencies and stakeholders were also present.
Bataan LGUs were recognized for implementing programs and policies that uphold child welfare and meet CFLGA assessment criteria. Remarkably it has a 100% passing rate.
