February 12, 2025 — DILG Bataan, in partnership with DILG Central Luzon and the Provincial Government of Bataan, continues its push for digital transformation at the grassroots level with the third day of the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) rollout for the municipalities of Abucay, Pilar, and Samal.
Bataan Governor Hon Joet Garcia emphasized the platform’s role in enhancing government service delivery, highlighting its benefits, including the streamlined encoding of the Registry of Barangay Inhabitants (RBI) and proper classification of occupations. These improvements, he noted, will lead to more efficient program formulation, ordinance development, and aid ‘ayuda’ distribution from national and local governments.
Meanwhile, DILG Regional Director Atty. Anthony Nuyda, CESO III, reiterated President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call for digitalization and DILG's efforts through BIMS align with this national priority.
"We will make sure na talagang magbe-benefit ang bawat barangay dito. At gusto natin na talagang maging matagumpay ang implementation nito sa Bataan dahil showcase po natin ito hindi lang sa Central Luzon kundi sa buong Pilipinas," RD Nuyda stated.
Providing hands-on demonstrations were DILG R3 Information Technology Officer I Melerie Pineda, along with a researcher, statistician, IT practitioner, and information systems analysts from Aurora, Bataan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Zambales and Angeles City.
Also present at the event were Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) President/ Board Member Hon Romeo Austria, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman, CESO V, Cluster Team Leader Cristy Blanco, as well as respective C/MLGOOs and provincial office personnel.
